Dr Claire Thorne is a science-driven innovation leader working at the intersection of deep tech, AI and society. She is Venture Partner at Deep Science Ventures, a global venture creator building breakthrough science companies, and Co-CEO of Tech She Can, an industry-backed social-impact scale-up tackling the UK’s tech skills gap through education and inclusion.
A member of the Council of The Foundation for Science and Technology, Claire advises on responsible innovation and equitable R&D policy, and frequently contributes to publications including The Guardian, Computing, and the Tony Blair Institute. Recognised among Computer Weekly’s Most Influential Women in UK Tech (2023–2025), she is a regular speaker at London Tech Week, Mobile World Congress and major industry forums.
Claire holds a PhD in Astroparticle Physics from Imperial College London and previously led innovation strategy and tech transfer programmes across UK universities.
